Have you ever wondered what is most important? There will be no other things that can compare with the support, loyalty, and love that our family gives. Having a family who cares, accepts our flaws, and loves us for who we are is priceless. Our families are the roots that nourish. The ones that keep us alive.
The purpose of family
Genesis 18:19
“For I have chosen him so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just so that the Lord will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.”
Having a family comes with a lot of responsibilities – from providing for their needs to understanding their feelings and thoughts. It is quite challenging as it requires too much time and effort to run a household and keep it peaceful. But have you ever wondered the reason why you belong to your family?
Family members can be more overwhelmed by what seems to be required and superficial (paying bills, sending kids to a great school, earning lots of money). When all things are overwhelming, leading each member of the family to the way of our Lord is essential. The core purpose is to bring your family with you to the Lord’s path.
Ruth 1:16-17
But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me.”
Families are blessings from up above. The love they share is incomparable and irreplaceable. During the hard times we stay together, pray together, and help one another for where there is unity there is strength.
Our family is our pillar of strength. Be that little push when the roads are steep, to be the walls we can lean on when we are tired, to be the shoulder to cry on, and to be the hand we can hold when life is unbalanced. The purpose of our family is made for us not to be alone in our battles in this world.
