In life, it’s easy to point out what others need to change. Yet, true spiritual growth starts with an honest look in the mirror. In our November series, “Man in the Mirror,” we’ll explore how Jesus calls each of us to self-reflection and transformation, preparing us to live out our full potential for God’s service.
The Bible tells us that the Word of God is like a mirror, showing us who we truly are (James 1:23-25). When we look into this mirror, we see not only our strengths but also the areas in need of change. But the point isn’t just to observe—it’s to act. Jesus demonstrated this with Zacchaeus, a tax collector whose life was changed because he was willing to face his mistakes. Zacchaeus didn’t walk away from Jesus’ call; he made a shift, repaying those he wronged and embracing generosity (Luke 19:1-10). Through self-examination, he moved from self-centeredness to a life ready for God’s service.
God is calling us to do the same. By looking inward, we can uncover the hidden attitudes, habits, or fears that hold us back from truly following Christ. The process isn’t always easy, but it’s essential. When we address these areas, we open ourselves up to growth, allowing God to shape us into effective vessels for His kingdom.
“Man in the Mirror” invites us to take a hard look at ourselves, not in shame, but in hope. Because with each change we make, we draw closer to the people God designed us to be—people ready to impact the world for Christ. Join us as we dive into this journey of self-reflection, and let’s grow together for His glory.
