There are so many things happening in the world around us today. Things seem to be spinning out of control. We may even be experiencing feelings of hopelessness, but we should know that this isn’t what God wants for us as Christians.
God wants us to move from hopelessness to having hope for the future. He desires for us to have nothing but His very best for our lives. Here are a few things that can help you grab hold of this hope.
Move From Hopelessness to Hopefulness
Changing your address here will make your life much better. However, you may find yourself wondering how you can elevate your mind in this way. Fortunately, there are a few things we find in God’s Word about this.
Seek God’s Heart
The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy. – Psalm 147:11
Regardless of how you’re feeling, it’s essential to draw near to God. He wants a deep, meaningful relationship with us, and we should want the same with Him. When we choose to spend time with Him, He’ll pour out his love, wisdom, comfort, and hope in our lives.
Be Patient in Waiting
For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? – Romans 8:24
To move from hopelessness to hopefulness requires us to be willing to be patient as we wait for the answer, solution, or change. As we learn to be patient, we open ourselves up to blessings throughout the process. God teaches us this because He knows that things are much more glorious when they happen according to His timing.
Remember What God Has Done for You in the Past
Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth. – Psalm 119:90
When we’re feeling hopeless, we need to pause to remember that the same God who has been faithful in the past will also be faithful in the future. He’ll do it again! This fact gives us hope. Maybe you need to pause to write down the victories that God has brought you through, but whatever it takes, we need to learn how to abide in hope.
Expect the Unexpected
Everywhere you look in the Bible, you see people who are being moved from hopelessness to hopefulness. These people are no different than you and I, except that they’ve chosen to wait on God’s glorious hopes and promises to come to them. Sometimes this means passing through many twists and turns, but God’s hope still prevails in the end.
Grab Hold of God’s Hope
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. – Romans 8:28
God wants us to grab hold of His hope so we can enjoy His blessings in our lives. Even when things seem to be going against us and we feel like we have no control, we still have hope that God is working on our behalf.
